The MidwayUSA Competition Shooting Mat has a pvc coated polyester to assure you don't slip around while shooting. One side is completely coated and the other is just coated where your arms and legs go. Depending on your preference, though, you could shoot on it either side.
Designed for competition, it is approved for high power and smallbore competitions, however, it can be used by anyone. There are grommets on the corners so you can stake it in place should you deal with wind. Here in Northern Nevada, that's pretty much a must.
One of the other neat features of this shooting mat is that it is designed for travel. It rolls up and stays put with some lovely little velcro straps. Then, you can carry it with either the handle or the adjustable carry strap.
What would one expect to pay for such a fine quality product? According to MidwayUSA, $49.99. However, they have dropped the price on this item to $24.99. Even with the $13 shipping I paid for the cheapest, slowest UPS ground shipping, it came out to less than the regular price of the shooting mat, and less than what other mats were going for at the recent gun show. Plus, my order came in four days earlier than it was expected to arrive. Kudos to MidwayUSA on their outstanding product and speedy service.
