A device with a blunt pointed edge that could be used as an impact weapon one second, then you screw off the cap and just like that, it's now a writing utensil. This is great for people who want a defensive mechanism that isn't considered lethal and can be taken with them in a purse, a pocket, anywhere. Various companies from Smith & Wesson to Brownells are marketing these new gadgets and they aren't cheap either. I've never bought a fancy pen, but from my understanding, a nice pen can run a pretty penny. These pens retail starting around $20 and go up depending on manufacturer and give you the benefit of providing a life saving device!
